about
This is the first song i ever wrote. I was about 19 at the time, and so full of hope! It's a love song.
One of the loveliest memories I have of this song is from youtube. Shortly after I posted an early version of this on youtube, a nice lady messaged me and asked if she could sing Folk Song for her parents' 60th wedding anniversary celebration. She told me her mom was 76 and her dad, 82! Of course I said yes.
lyrics
You asked me if I love you
Honey what do you really think?
I love you more than anything
More than rubies, diamonds, or mink
I'm strumming my harp
and I'm singing this song
Just to let you know
I would dance with a shark
Live on Pluto or Mars
Because I love you so
So I asked you, "Do you love me?"
You told me, "Honey, I do.
I love you more than anything
More than all the gold in Timbuktu."
When I'm 76
And you're 82
This song I'll sing for you
Cause I'll still love you
