Fifty Years cover art
/

about

I was having breakfast at A&W in Vancouver with a few friends one morning when we noticed there were four old ladies sitting across from us. They looked about fifty years older than we did...

lyrics

Where will we be in fifty years?
Will we be married in Algiers?
Will we be shopping all day at Sears?
Will we still be here, drinking root beer?

I woke up this morning
And met three friends for brunch
And the rain was pouring
But we could see the sun
We were eating eggs and toast
Happy as friends should be
We laughed and talked and snapped some shots
And we wondered where we will be…in fifty years

Across from us sat four good friends
Older than seventy-four
They smiled at us and told us how
They were just like us before
“We’ve been good friends o’er the years”
One lady started to say
“There’s nothing like this group of peers
We’ve been together all the way…for fifty years.”
